17-8-2009 - Catching up with everyone

My mood while writing this blog: Happy and tired

I haven't been on in a while. There's been a lot going on and I never seem to find the time to just sit and chat anymore. Katie turned 5 mos. this past Friday and today she cut her first tooth. I was so excited. She was very very cranky today and I checked her mouth and sure enough she has a white spot that broke through that I'd never seen before. It's on the bottom but off to the right side. Apparently that's not usually the first tooth to come through, but from what I've read on the internet it is perfectly normal for her teeth to come in out of order. She also went to the doctor last week and she is now 14lbs 2 oz. and just shy of 23" long. She's come a long way since she was born. It's hard to believe she was ever so tiny. She is still wearing clothes in the 0-3 months size and she just graduated to size 2 diapers. She's little but she's the most beautiful little girl. I just love her so much more every day. She also started eating about 2 weeks ago. Just oatmeal (we skipped rice because it can cause constipation) and bananas, pears, apples and sweet potatos so far. She is doing pretty well. I only feed her food once a day since I am still nursing. I don't want to rush her. Here's hoping that everyone and their babies are doing well. I have moved from south Florida. I am now living just outside Orlando with my sister and her kids. I'll be looking for a job soon. I've decided to go back into bartending because that way I can work nights and I can spend my days with Katie. She has so many appointments with doctors and soon she'll probably be working with developmental specialists so I don't want to put her in daycare. She needs a lot of one on one attention and I want to be the one to give it to her. Besides there are a lot of job opportunities around Orlando in the service industry so I should have no problem finding work. Katie's dad went back to his hometown of Austin, TX. If you all recall we both lost our jobs while I was pregnant and got evicted from my apartment. We pretty much lost everything but we're working hard to get back on our feet. He misses Katie more than anything. I just wish he could have stayed here but my family wouldn't let him stay since we're not married. (Strict catholic sort of thing). He want's to be back her before Christmas so we can be together for the holidays and ultimately he wants me to move back to Austin with the baby. Wish us luck. We need all the prayers we can get. I hope everyone out there is doing well with their babies. Write anytime, I'll try to make a point to check in more often. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Hi! So happy to hear from you. It sounds like things are going well and you really have a plan. I'm sorry Katies dad can't be more in the picture right now, but it's great that he wants to be. I can't believe Katie is eating already! Maggie goes for her 4 month appt next week and I plan to ask about food. Maggie is still really little at 11 pounds, but she's about 24 inches and gaining weight. She's also the love of my life!
