My mood while writing this blog: Curious |
I am so torn I think that I would really like to try a home birth but I have no idea what the risks are. I live about twenty minutes away from the hospital and that makes me nervous I also realize that means no epideral:(
The thought of being in the comfort of my own home really appeals to me, I am so confused of course I want to do whats best for the baby and myself but I am not sure what that is. Any home birthing experinces, advice or suggestions?

Thursday, 31 Dec I didn't have the epi with either kids nor any pain medication. I was induced with my son and my daughter came naturally but later needed induced. I must say if I knew I would have done so well with both births, I would have found a birthing center or have the babies at home with a midwife. However I tested positive for GBS which forced me to be on anitbiotics during the labor. I believe that it's all about pain control and finding your comfort IN the pain. Sounds hard. But I enjoyed labor. I wish I had it caught on camera. I just stayed calm and let my body do the work (with the help of pitocin.) Miracle 3 -
Wednesday, 30 Dec Here are my 3 baby stories which may offer some help.. 1st waited till I couldn't wait anymore and was at the hospital 2 hours and my 1st was born. ( this one was smooth even though I had wanted an epidreal but no time I did have some nubain which worked well) 2nd I awoke with avery hard contraction and took a bath and off to the hospital - we didn't make it before she was crowning. - I delivered her myself and the placneta in the car after only one hour from the 1st contraction.. So the pain was sooo intense and fast and no drugs! 3rd baby - I was induced to be at the hospital due to my fast history... But it was awful.. broke water nothing.. then started pitosin and nothing... Finally 2 hours after contractions started our baby was here. but not without tons of complications! He was posereior as well as the cord very tight on his neck and was not breathing for 5 whole minutes after birth - needed foreceps and all! ( if I had not been at the hospital we could have both died) However I have many cousins who do home briths and I wish my next could be if all would go as smooth as my 1st 2..! Hard to say - good luck and God bless you! kikimama10 -
