25-11-2009 - fast update

My mood while writing this blog:
okay and happy

Hello girls :)
I hope your all well, i'm alright. Eric's really growning up and being a good boy. We're thinking of putting him in daycare soon at least by jan 2010. For those who have children in daycare, hows it going for you? And has your child changed for the better or worse? Are they sick more too?
I can't believe were hitting 2010! where did the time go! i was just remebering when i was a kid i would count up the years and see how old i would be in that year. 3 more years and i'd be 30! wow just shocking.
Eric is 459 days old! Eric will start kindergarten in 2013, be old enough to drive a car in 2024, finish high school in 2026, and will graduate from college with the class of 2030, give or take a year! Wow eh!!!
Eric's been saying Emmmooo lol as in Elmo and loves cookie monster he says cooocee, we watch sesame st all the time. he's always saying mama and dada. He says ba for ball and moo for cow and many other animal sounds. he says juu for juice. He says a few other things ohh when he see cars his lips move up and down like a motor and sounds like one lol and he says carrrrrr hee hee it's soooo cute!
Should Eric be saying more then that at 15 months? he says a few other words but mostly just wants to play and put things in and out of the baskets and toy box. He loves to go outside. We're not sure when we're going for santa caz eric fell at my moms and scatched he's cheek right under his eye. so it's not nice for pictures.

All 3 of my kids have been in day-care/baby-sitters since almost day 1 (Lexi 2.5 weeks old, Austin 6w old & Zariya 3m old). I personally prefer the home based day-care to start out with. More home like and personal 1-1 care with the sitter. Then move them to a more structured day-care center at 3-4. We just moved Austin to a 3's program at a church day-care. Lexi went to that place from 4-10. They still have 99% of the same staff there so now Austin has the same teachers that Lexi did! Zariya will go there when she is 3. Then they start to learn letters and numbers and rules and structure.My kids have never been overly sick and I don't see any difference between my SAHM friends kids and mine. Good luck with your decision.

about day care and being sick more- we have always picked up viruses and disease from our friends children. They have a daughter in pre-school and she's always bringing home new diseases. So when Isaac is there while i'm at work (4 days a month on average) he usually comes home with something. Last year though was worse. I don't know if it was b/c he was younger or maybe his immune system is stronger now that he's had his full cycle of immunizations, but so far, he's only had 1 cold so far this year! last year, he'd continuously had a cold since the beginning of october.

sounds like he is doing well. Language is very individual for each child and often (i'm told and read) boys are less verbal at the younger age. Isaac has been able to say 'car' 'ma ma' and 'da da' for months now, but only started to really repeat words since September. Now he's 2 he's picking up new words all the time. But he doesn't use them consistently either. Most of the time he 'hums' the words so he uses the vocal tones we use, but not the word. For example, he say's thank you 'mm mmn' or for his aunty vicki he says 'mm-mm mm-mm' and you can hear the same tone we use, but not the word. It's weird actually, but i'm not too worried as he is trying out words as well.

I don't have Tavia in daycare, my sister in law was watching her in her home with her two other girls, but now we have a new sitter that watch her at her home with her son. So there is the only two kids. I'm sure he'll do just fine. Just watch him close and make sure he is still learing and all that great stuff. I think he is doing REALLY well for 15 months. I just took Tavia to her 15 month and the Dr asked those same things and Eric is doing them so is Tavia and the Dr said it was really good.
