22-7-2009 - Twins!

My mood while writing this blog: Shocked

Well, I go to my very first scan,21-07-09 (the midwife thought I was 13 weeks) I thought I was about 10 to 11 weeks. I am actually 15 weeks 5 days with identical twins!

Been crying one minute -thinking how am I going to cope? Laughing the next. It hasn't really sunk in yet. My other half and the rest of my family keep laughing hysterically and excitedly.

Twins DO NOT EVER run in my family. Twins HAVE NEVER run in my other halfs family. Where did they come from? I suppose that twins have to start somewhere.

I will keep you updated when I know the sex in a few weeks time hopefully!!

I have been able to see boy parts in my twins since week 17 and it does not make a difference if they are breach. It may take a little more looking but you should be able to tell during a U/S.

Twins?! That's great news. We have fraternal boys who are 11 months now. There are times when you look at them and think - how lucky are we? Everyone else just gets one, and we get 2!!
With identical, it doesn't need to run in the family - just an egg splitting into two... so if you decide to have more babies, chances are that you will only have one. Tee hee! Enjoy your good fortune... I know it is a bit of a shock at first, but hey, you already knew there was one baby, what's 1 more right lol? And they do tend to enjoy each others company too. OH MY LORD!! I can really understand the mixed feelings! 15 WEEKS WITH TWINS!!! Oh my lord! Two blessings are twice as good as one! And the babies (oh my gosh, BABIES!) are healthy which is the main thing! Congratulations lady!

Well actually it's only fraternal twins that run in a gene pool. Identical twins are just a random miracle....Congradulations, how wonderful to have two babies that look exact......so cute!!!!!

WOW! That's big news! May I suggest contacting La Leche League NOW??? Also, here, we have MOMS (mothers of multiples) groups. My neighbor had twins two weeks before Auggie was born. She said the group was amazing at tips, ideas, and breastfeeding advice. But as far as diapers, time to consider asking for payment for a diaper service in lieu of some shower gifts... It'll last a lot longer than the disposables they would buy, and save on some laundry insanity. I'm sure your mother is smiling a big, toothy smile at you from above. Also: you will cope. And as a bonus, I can't think of any famously evil people who were of a set of twins! (that's what I keep telling my neighbor on her bad days!) ALL MY BEST!!!!!(A million more exclamation points!!)
