My mood while writing this blog: Calm...now!!

Ladies.....do you share your name choices of your baby to be with family and friends?

Well, I used to until...one day when I was about 7 weeks I decided to start thinking of names for my baby to be. Typically I wouldn't have done so that early but I was kinda stressed about the pregnancy and figured I needed to begin embracing the fact that I'm pregnant. So I wanted to bond with this baby growing inside of me. I tossed around a few names and consulted with my older brother who I'm very close with. He liked both names, one for each a boy and a girl. Then, I called my best friend and shared the two names with her...she replied that the names sounded like DOG names. Who in the hell did she think she was talking to?!?! Mind you she has 3 children of her own, therefore, she understands how emotional and hormonal a preggo woman is at this point. Needless to say how mean the comment was. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and yes, I did ask for her opinion but wasn't expecting that!

Now, ladies I am not sharing my name choices with anyone, not even my childrens' father because we couldn't agree on our first daughter's name for a while. Everyone always has something negative to say about names and never has anything better to offer up.

I'm finished with my tangent. How do you ladies deal with spilling the beans on the little beans name choices?

I hear ya about the baby names. Nobody likes the names I pick. My husband's family would be fine if we named our baby the plainest most boring, common name there is. I never considered not sharing the name.. It's a great idea. I might consider doing that too.

funny u asked, i did the same. I have two sets of parents and spoke with both about my daughter name. hich was at first Chanell Alexis. OMG!!! they was like it sounds ghetto, sounds like a stripper name, etc. We then changed it to Alexus DeVonah, now they're like we like the frst name, but where da hell did the middle nae come from Ppl/family are gonna have smart ass remarks, screw them and go with what u like for your reasons.
