My mood while writing this blog: sleepy |
So yesterday evening I had to go to Chris' grandparents' house to pick something up for him and was standing in the kitchen talking to his grandma. It was pretty warm in there I had on a sweater and ended up getting a hot flash. I have gotten them a few times this pregnancy. So I took off my sweater and got a glass of ice water. I felt much better. Well about ten minutes later, I suddenly got extremely hot and dizzy, and everything went black. I managed to make it down two steps to the kitchen table and immediately sat down and took deep breaths, and the dizzyness began to fade and my vision started to clear. If that chair hadn't been there, I seriously would have fainted on his grandma's kitchen floor! She asked if I needed food and I kept saying, "all i need right now is an ice pack." so then she asked me if I needed some sugar in my blood. "Not immediately. Right now I just need an ice pack." So after telling her about 3 times, she got me a package of frozen edamame and put that on the back of my neck. It was another 20 minutes before I felt well enough to drive home, but I have heard that it is pretty common for pregnant women to faint. 2 of my coworkers fainted while pregnant. I have been very close on numerous occasions pre-pregnancy, but have always caught myself and managed to sit down before actually fainting. I continued to be light-headed for the rest of the night, though.

Thursday, 9 Oct That happened to me last week. I was cooking eggs for breakfast (they sounded so good) Well all of a sudden everything started going black, I hobbled myself to the bathroom and after nearly collapsing I threw up! which that would be the first for me and I was 14 weeks at the time. It was weird but right after that I was completely fine, even though I still haven't been able to smell eggs since without wanting to puke! lol RR2007 -
Wednesday, 8 Oct Wow, so glad that chair was there for you!!! I get dizzy alot but never come close to fainting. Oh but hot flashes too. Ok well take it easy and ya maybe ask the doc about being anemic. :) jterrill08 -
Wednesday, 8 Oct Oh wow.. you poor thing! You definitely need to be careful! I haven't experienced any fainting spells yet but I've definitely gotten hungry enough that I though I was going to faint. Like right now! I'm starving but I'm trying to wait until 11 est. Just take it easy girl. The winter will come soon and you won't have to worry too much about those hot flashes. Just hang in there and don't test your body. If you feel something coming on, sit down right away! EloiseAndHarrys-Mummy! -
Wednesday, 8 Oct you'll probably find you do need a boost of sugar or iron. Id go to the doctor and just get them to check your iron levels. Alot of women get anemic whilst pregnant. babydoll24 -
Wednesday, 8 Oct i've had that happen once this pregnancy. i was sitting down at the kitchen table eating dinner and i litterally felt myself falling over and couldnt stop myself. i got really hot and dizzy and everything went black right before it happened. luckily my fiance was there and caught me or i would have fallen right off my chair onto the floor.
it was the weirdest thing, but it's never happened since then.
