26-11-2009 - Update - U/S

My mood while writing this blog: On Cloud Nine

So as most of you know, I had my U/S today, and let me just say I am sooooo glad I made the doctor send me for one. I went into the U/S room assuming I was 11w2d (but told the technician I wasn't sure of my dates at all), and found out I am 11w6d, and have a new due date - June 11th, 2010, instead of June 15th, 2010. So I am ecstatic about that. I was given one picture, which I can't stop looking at. We (Michael and I) heard the heartbeat for probably 5 seconds, if that, but those few seconds were almost the most amazing seconds of my life. I was amused watching the baby move around like crazy on the screen, it was so comforting to know that baby is alive and fine in there. The placenta is on the back wall of my uterus, and my ovaries all look good, so that was good to be told as well. I feel like the luckiest and happiest woman alive right now.

I told my mum when I got home from the U/S by handing her the picture and her going, "What's this? Are you pregnant?" and I'm like, "Yeah!". It went soooo much smoother than I thought it would. Mum told dad while I was at work, and he's happy too, so that's a huuuuuge weight off my shoulders.

So I feel like I can relax a lot more now that I've seen bub. Here's the picture I got given, I'm hoping the doctor receives more pictures from the scan that I get to keep, because one isn't enough, even though it's awesome. Hope you ladies are all doing well.
