05-9-2008 - 33 week appointment...with a surprise!

My mood while writing this blog: Soaking it in!

So, first things first...we came back from our 2 week vacation this past Sunday. Just in time too as I picked up a virus and was coughing, suffering from a sore throat and no voice. Could not wait to get home to my own house, my own bed and just home in general! I spoke to my OB on Monday and she told me to pick up some cough syrup, which 5 days later, is starting to finally take effect. I am about 85% on the mend - some stuffiness still. Had really bad rib pain on Wednesday but that too is thankfully diminishing. Oh well - thought I was going to be lucky and get through this pregnancy without any viruses!

Today we had our 33 week appointment. Isabella now weighs 2.5 kilos and is doing very well. She woke me up at 4am this morning and continually moved till I fell back asleep at about 6:30am. She was unusually active today - getting ready for her performance this evening I suppose. Because she was pretty active during the u/s and we counted a lot of movement during her heart reading.

And then, our doctor told us that because of my high sugar and her size now - she will induce me 10 days earlier. Not what I was wanting - I was hoping to just let nature take it's course. But, she doesn't want Isabella to go over 3.5 kilos for delivery - neither do I to be honest! Ouch!

So in 4 weeks, on October 10th, I will be induced and await her arrival! I'm shocked - I mean I had 6 weeks but now it's 4 weeks and it just seems so soon! Even though technically, after September 27th, she could come at any time. Maybe nature will take it's course and Isabella will come on her own so I don't have to be induced. We shall see!!

And the best part was my weight! I was shocked to hear I had only gained 4.7 kilos since end of April! I suppose it helps that I've had to modify my diet to watch my sugar.

Now my husband is starting to panic - we have to get her room together and buy everything that we need - now! Luckily he is off this weekend and Monday and we had planned to do all that anyway. I suppose getting my bag ready too is in order!!

I am smiling right now - in 4 weeks, my Isabella will be here!! The moment I've waited for all these years - to be a mom!
