I will write a longer blog very soon - in 2 1/2 weeks to be exact as my baby girl, Isabella, will be turing 1 year old on October 14th!! I'm still in denial - can't believe she has blessed our lives for what seems like a lifetime already. I don't remember life without her actually - it's like she's always been there. In fact, she has been - since I met my husband in 2002 as we talked about our little "Bella" that we would have one day. And as some of you know, she came exactly 6 years to the first day my husband and I met!!! Even down to the exact hour - 5:05pm - which is when I picked him up from the airport!!!

ANYWAY...more to write later....just wanted to play with this "Proud Mummy" questionnaire!!! Hope all is well!!!

How old is your first born today: 11 1/2 months - will be 1 year old on October 14th

Does your first born have any siblings now: Not yet - soon I hope!

Were you married at the time: Yes - she was with us when we got married! I was 8 weeks pregnant with her! (planned before we knew we were pregnant)

What was your reaction: In denial, excited, dumb-founded - happy as hell!!!

How old were you: 37 when I found out - 38 when I gave birth

How did you find out you were pregnant: Just felt that I was - I have an almost non-existent period so that didn't help but I had sore boobs for like a month, nauseous quite often, felt really tired and just felt pregnant - when the test was immediately positive - I was shaking!!!

Did you want to find out the sex: Yes - my family live in Canada and I live in Greece - they needed to know!!!

What was your due date? October 20th

Did you deliver early or late: I delivered on October 14th - induced because of gestational diabetes

Did you have morning sickness: I was nauseous 24/7 for the first 4 months

What did you crave: Fruit and meat

What irritated you the most: People asking me if I was concerned about birth defects because I was an "older" mum - pissed me off to no end - no congratulations - just "aren't you concerned"????

What's the sex of your first baby: Total girly girl!!!!

Did you have any complications during your pregnancy: Gestational diabetes

How much weight did you gain during pregnancy: About 20lbs

Where did you give birth: Thessaloniki, Greece

How many hours were you in labor: 4 1/2 hours

Who drove you to the hospital: My husband.

Who watched the delivery: My husband, the doctor & 3 nurses

Was it natural or c-section: Natural

Did you take medicine to ease the pain: Yes but not by choice - Isabella went into distress a couple of times and they gave me an epidural to calm us both down - worked thankfully

How much did your baby weigh: 3.4kgs (about 7 1/2 lbs)

Did your baby have any complications: As I said above, she went into distress twice - her heart rate went from 160 to 60 twice and if the epidural and oxygen wouldn't work - we were heading in for a c-section. Thankfully, both worked. I went from 3cm to 9cm in 15 minutes and 6 pushes later she was out!
