| 30-12-2009 - Last update for 2009 | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
Wow! Tomorrow is it! The last day in 2009! And 2009 was a fantastic year for my family and I!
So, Isabella is now 14 ½ months old! She is walking, running, climbing, screaming, trying to form words (her new words are no, hello and woof woof). She is an absolute dream child. Never complains, plays on her own but lets us know when she wants to play with us. She’s a picky eater, but I am figuring out ways to make sure she eats plenty. Soup usually does the trick so I make a home made chicken or beef soup at least twice a week. She’ll eat the carrots and the meat, sometimes the peas.
Isabella has 6 teeth with a 7th one not too far behind! Her teeth are coming in slowly but I don’t mind! We are successfully breastfeeding 14 ½ months now! I’m very proud of how well we’ve done – I kept saying “if I can at least breastfeed for 6 months I’ll be happy” – we’ll I’m ecstatic that we’ve continued this long! I was wondering if I should wean as I have been wanting to try for a brother or sister for Isabella and my period had not appeared yet. But, it came on it ‘s own a couple of weeks ago and Isabella isn’t showing any signs of wanting to wean so we will wait! But we aren’t waiting on trying for a sibling!!!
Isabella gives us plenty of hugs, blows kisses and does the cutest thing with her eyes – blinks them while trying to be cute which isn’t too hard for her! I am so happy to be her mother – she fills my days and nights with so much happiness. I almost don’t remember my life before her!
I’ve been unemployment for all of 2009 since my company closed down last December, and that will come to an end very soon. It’s been an added bonus to be able to stay home with Isabella this first year. I will have to go back to work although I’m not holding my breath for something soon. You all know I live in Greece and as a non-native, I’m the last to get hired! There aren’t many opportunities here either and the pay is unbelieveably low. Much lower than our other European Union members which we cannot figure out. The cost of living is the highest here as well! I’m trying to go back to teaching English so that I can be home with Isabella longer – I love being a stay-at-home mum – THIS is what makes me happy! So I will continue to pursue other opportunities so I can be home with her.
At that my friends, is my last update for 2009!
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and that 2010 brings you much happiness and joy! So here’s to lots of baby dust, sticky dust and labour dust to everyone!!!
Love to all!
