| 20-11-2008 - Questions about STRETCH MARKS:( |
My mood while writing this blog: kinda worried |
Okayy well i'm only 21 wks 6 days pregnant basically 22 wks pregnant....anyway i'm really worried about getting stretch marks i already get really itchy skin on my belly all the time and i use all the vitamin E oils, cocoa butter, and olive oil you could ever think of but.....it still itches i don't know what to do??? I mean i already have some stretch marks from gaining and losing weight really quickly when i was younger they are on my boobs and sides but you really can't see them anymore....they turned white now so i know they fade in time but they made me feel so ugly and uncomfortable like i can't even wear a swim suit anymore which sucks. Really all i want to know is, is there ANYTHING at all i can do other than what i've already tried to help prevent them??? I mean if i do get them i'll somehow have to learn to deal with them because i know it's alll for my beautiful babygirl you know??? I would love to hear anything i can at least try and i would really appreciate it too so thanks to all who answer!!! And also if ya'll could tell me when exactly you started getting them?? o yeah one more thing i think it might be in my gene's for me to get them because my mom got them but only after suffering severe swelling(edema) in her last 2 weeks of pregnancy with me so i really don't know if she would have really got them then but just thought i'd mention it!!!!

Saturday, 22 Nov Sadly i dont think anything prevents them....:(
I used palmers belly butter, palmers cocoa butter, sorbeline, olive oil and bio oil but none of it was working.... I was pretty devastated when i 1st saw them just hoping they fade now!!!!
Some people use nothing on their bellies and dont get any stretchmarks (GRRR) and most will get them no matter what.

Friday, 21 Nov My mom had 6 six kids (a set of twins me and my brother) she said her stomach itched like crazy , and she didnt get any stretch marks!!!!! Bio oil is really good, you will still itch but when you do DO NOT Scratch!!!!! Rub your belly instead, and if your at home just lather the oils on and rub!!!Thats what I do!!! Anesha -
Thursday, 20 Nov HI! I have had stretch marks on my behind since I was like 17 from losing and gaining just like you. However, when I was pregnant with my daughter I rubbed Palmers Massage Cream for stretch marks on my skin at least 3 times a day and I did not get one stretch mark on my belly! I have pictures on my page. Also my cousin who has tons of marks said whatever you do don't scratch. You can rub the cream on it when it itches but whatever you do do not scratch your belly. Also do not have sudden weight gain. You are small like me and if your pregnancy weight is gradual and within the weight gain guidelines in my opinion you can avoid them just like I did. I am a proof that it is possible to not get any stretch marks on your belly even if you had them on your a$$ from years already. LOL. CJwaiting4no3 -
Thursday, 20 Nov Althoughy it's not what u want to hear, there's nothing youcan do. The elasticity of your skin is genetic and as you already have them from non-pregnancy weight it is likely you will get them now. Moisurisers can stop the skin drying out and make it more comfortable but ultimately you sound pre-disposed to getting them. It sucks doesn't it? I'm the same, covered in the bloody things from behind my knees to my bum, tum and bb's. I haven't worn a bikini since childhood. Boo....Mind you, my kids are so worth it! Mommy Brittani -
Thursday, 20 Nov I pretty sure there is nothing you can do to provent them I think your either going to get them or not. The time that most ppl get them is the last few week because thats when the baby grows the most. my mom and my sister got them too but with my son i didnt so it just depends but i would just keep putting on the oils and doing what your doing sorry i could not help you more. oxox
