26-4-2008 - Getting better

Today is a wonderful day. Both my husband and I got a full nights rest for the first time since Layla was born. My wonderful sister babysat Layla last night while we caught up on some much needed sleep. We both feel great and missed her so so much though. We are very happy to have her back home although she did just fine being away for a while.

We are both doing much better now that we got over the yeast infection in my nipples and thrush on her poor little tongue. I know change out my breast frequently because I tend to leak a lot despite frequent breastfeeding and pumping. She is happy now that she doesn't have to taste that icky medicine anymore.

She is typically sleeping four hours at a time during the night but there are nights when she is fussy and refuses to sleep despite all of our efforts. But she really is a good baby though and smiles often. She is getting bigger all the time. Her neck is getting much stronger and able to turn from side to side with ease. She weighed 9.9lbs on 4/23 which she gained 12oz in one week! The baby nurse says she is doing just fine so I guess she was just going through a growth spurt!
