29-9-2009 - Baby's 1st Halloween & update

My mood while writing this blog: happy

my 2 oldest children had no problems picking out their halloween costumes this year. usually they 'humm" & "i dont know". . or they have sooooo many things they wanna be that it's insane ! but my daughter quickly decided she wanted to be a bunny & my son a fire fighter. excellent choices.

i on the other hand was the one being COMPLETELY indicisive on what i wanted the baby to be. they have the CUTEST outfits for baby's this year ! should she be the flower the tiger ? mouse ? ghost ? its her very 1st halloween & the only one were she will be this tiny ! ive been in the stores looking at costumes for her since i was still preggers with her (because you know they put halloween stuff out in like july, lol, j/k) !

but i finally decided on a pumpkin. she will be bright freakin orange & will look absolutely ADORABLE when we set her next to the jack-o-lanterns when we go to take pics of the kids. AHH ! i cant wait !

she has been doing SUPER good on her breast feeding, although i am having to supplement her with formula if im out in public with people im not comfortable watching me feed her, or when my nipps are just TOO sore to do it. shes taken to both well, but she does prefer when i breast feed over her bottle.

she wakes up anywhere from 2-4, sometimes 5 times a night for changes & feedings. shes been pretty rigid on every 3 hours, but sometimes less. so in the mornings when i take the kids to school im BEAT from staying up so late or getting up so many times.

shes 19 days old today & is already getting to the point where she can stay awake a little longer each time & just wants to look around the room. she already likes to stare at the celing fan. its a mix of the lights & the spinning motion.

i spent $20 getting pics of her birth developed & my mom finished her photo album. its so cute. its yellow with honey bees. then she acented it by glueing on little plastic bees & a hive. i love it. ive got a lot of her baby book filed in already, but its turning into more of a scrap book because i have so much stuff glued into the pages. its probably not even going to close by the time i get done with it !

her belly button cord fell off last saturday. it was mostly off when we went to the doc but it was looking a little irritated so he said to stop using the alcohol swabs & just clean it with soap & warm water. i did & the next day when she woke up & i went to change her, it was in her little sleeper outfit. but im still going to keep using the huggies with the notch cut out for the cord for a while.

she seems to be a very happy healthy baby ! i hope she stays that way !

ever since i had her i have completely lost the itchiest skin in the world ! it was terrible ! but it was like once she arrived, my skin instantly felt better. my hands, feet, arms, legs, belly, everything ! cured ! what a relief. i also went down to my pre-birth weight & then lost more. i was at 118 last time i checked & i started off at 125. i blame it on the all liquid diet they made me have at the hospital. eww ! cream of nasty soup with un-sweet "sweet tea" & 1/2 melted ice cream that tasted like it was going sour. i didnt eat for a couple days.

but we are all doing VERY well & the kids are loving their new sister (for now anyway, lol). . . . im a proud mommy of 3 ! how wonderful !
