07-11-2009 - just an update :)

My mood while writing this blog: mellow

its almost 2:45 am & i'm up feeding adisyn. she is doing wonderfully. i cant believe she is a couple days shy of being 2 whole months old ! yesterday i was looking at her pictures from the hospital to see how much she has changed. her face has gotten a little slimmer & her hair has started to lighten, but other than that not much has changed. she is so beautiful.

she usually only wakes up once in the night. 30 minutes- 11/2 hours of changing, feeding & burping & she'll drift right back off to sleep. she is now up to being able to sleep an 8-hour stretch at night & would probably sleep throughout most of the night if i'd put her to bed around 10-10:30, but its just hard for me to stay up that "late" anymore. im getting OLD ! lol !

this morning we took a "field trip". the elementary school my children go to gives out baby baskets to all the kids who have a baby born in the family. they are beautiful baskets & are filled with baby books & a couple of other little goodies. so we surprised my kids & showed up in each of their classrooms 1 at a time to show off the baby & talk about how reading makes you smarter & stuff. its a way to get the kids involved by reading to the baby & get the baby interested in reading. the librarian encouraged all the children in the class to read to their littler siblings as well. shes such a nice lady. all day my kids were dying to get home & dig into that basket ! so we got a couple out & read a couple stories before bedtime.

it was such a treat to watch them be so happy to show off their little sister & mommy & how eager they were to read to her. and seeing their faces light up when they realized we were there a school ! i purposely didnt tell them we were going to be there. i loved their shocked expressions !

adisyn goes to the doctor for her 2 month check up next week. everybody has been asking me how long she is & how much she weighs. i would also like to know ! i havent had her measured since she was at her 1 month check-up. but im kind of not looking forward to going, because she will be getting some immunizations & i HATE watching my kids cry ! so heartbreaking.
