Oprah, have we got a story for you! There is a website called i-am-pregnant.com. On it, women from around the world share their experiences with pregnancy and parenting. Most of us joined this online group one year ago, after finding out we were pregnant.

The group has provided each of us with unparalleled support and friendship. Women are grouped by their due dates, going through the same milestones at the same time. After giving birth, the chats continue. We share stories and photos, provide opinions, and answer questions.

There are about 25 of us who have been chatting together for months. We have never met in person, but we have shared the fear, excitement and joy of pregnancy, childbirth and parenting every step of the way.

Maybe even more special than that is our diversity as a group. We come from different countries and ethnic backgrounds. We range in age from 20 to 40. Some of us are first-timers, some of us have multiple children. And yet we have found lasting friendship on the Internet for the past year, and have no doubt that this bond will continue into the future.

Our babies are now about four months old, and we never dreamed we would gain so much from joining an online chat. Maybe we’d get a few questions answered, laugh about our swollen ankles, or gain a sympathetic ear when complaining about our (wonderful) partners. But we are gratified to report that the experience has meant much more than that. Lasting friendship and support from women who would otherwise be strangers…what could be better?

Oprah, we would love an opportunity to meet on your show and share our life-changing experience with your viewers.

Hey Lisa for some reason I had no clue you were going to write to Oprah and now I see the letter and my name is not there :-( Did you send it already? If not, can you please include me?
