22-10-2008 - So much for secrecy!

48 hours!! I couldn't hold out any longer than 48 hours to tell my husband. The main reason I was going to wait is because he's so terrible at keeping secrets, and I really don't want to make any announcements until I'm 12 weeks. But I couldn't not tell him, and he does have strict instructions not to tell anybody.

I was a little disappointed with his reaction too, which is stupid I know. I'd imagined he'd be jumping up and down, totally over the moon when he was actually a bit more sombre and realistic. "You don't even know for sure yet" he says. Well I know!! But it's not likely to be anything else!! I think he remembers the first 9 months a little more clearly than I do, and he's well aware that even if I am pregnant, we still have a long way to go. So really, I should be thankful that he's keeping my feet on the ground.

One good thing, 12 weeks is up on the 21st December - so not only is it our son's first Christmas and our first Christmas in this house, but we'll also be able to make the announcement of our latest impending arrival. I'm so excited to be starting new family traditions and having our own family to celebrate with.
