08-3-2009 - 8 Weeks!!

My mood while writing this blog: Way excited

My appointment with my GP went really really well yesterday. Things are looking great. As it stands at the moment, there is only one tiny little bubba ... However, I didn't have a full bladder and the doc couldn't get a good look around, so we're going to wait until the 12 week scan to rule out twins. Unlikely though. He said that while my blood pressure is on the low side, it's not dangerously low, and all I can really do is take things easy. He also said not to stress too much about the bleeding I had last week. The placenta is well established, the baby is spot on the correct size for the dates the doc calculated (which also means (YAY) that I get to jump ahead a week to 8 weeks 3 days), and he/she has a strong heartbeat. He said that had the bleeding been a prelude to a miscarriage, the baby would most likely be struggling etc. However, I do know that things can still go wrong, so I'm hanging out for the next couple of weeks to pass quickly and without any big events. I didn't get a picture because the u/s machine wasn't hooked up to the printer. I'll see if I can push for one next time.

All of mine and DH's family now knows the news. We've told everyone that we'd really like to keep it quiet until 12 weeks, but who knows if they can hold in the chance to have a gossip. My parents are over the moon about it, and my father-in-law has predicted a girl, so we shall see.

I'm still feeling really tired and a little nauseous, but at least I'm able to eat decent meals and can keep them down!
