| 11-5-2009 - Too Long | My mood while writing this blog:Getting excited |
Hi Ladies,
I know it's been weeks since I've been on here. I'm sorry it's been so long, especially since I've been reading up on what's been happening, and there's so much exciting news about!!
We have been crazy busy with Weddings, Engagement parties, Birthdays, family gatherings, and of course, work. But through it all I've made it to 17 weeks (and four days - lol). I had my 16 week check-up a couple of days ago - one week late - but everything is going great. In my first two scans my little bubba wasn't moving too much. It really surprised me and got me quite worried, because Lucas was always so active in the womb, but last week the baby decided it's time to put on a show. Even though all the stats were fine, I just started to freak out a little, but since then, I've been able to relax and start enjoying the butterfly movements. Love it. I soo missed them after I gave birth last time. It's amazing how comforting they are.
I don't know if I mentioned before, but I've also changed GP's. My husband was not too happy with the treatment we got from my GP last time, so we've both decided to go to a new doctor in town. He's wonderful. I'm so glad that we changed. He's made this time even more happy and exciting, and I'm so glad that I now look forward to going to antenatal. He has also said that he wants to look after me until 36 weeks, as opposed to sending me for share-care to the hospital from 20 weeks. I'm excited about this not only because he's a great doctor, and I will get a scan each time, but also because the wait at the hospital is usually an hour minimum, and I would not be looking forward to that when I have a 14 month old monster with me!! lol.
Unfortunately, none of the private doctors in town have the PI cover to deliver babies, so I will still have to revert to the public system for the birth. DH and I discussed driving to the nearest city so that we could see a OB/GYN who would oversee the birth in a private hospital, but my labours aren't very long, and I think the drive would be too uncomfortable. I'm not really prone to complications either, so as long as everything's going well, we'll stick to the current plan.
I also got my referral for the 20 week scan at my last appointment. Can't wait. Only 2 1/2 weeks to go!!
I hope all you ladies are doing well, and here's hoping I'll be on here a little more often to keep up with all the news. Lots of Love!!
