03-9-2009 - Hmmm OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

Well girls, what is there to say. I have 43 days to D-day. 43 days. My belly hasn't actually gotten as big as it did last time, and I don't have the cankles to make my legs ache at the end of each day, so while I'm feeling a little bit like a whale, I'm in a lot better shape. I don't know how all you ladies do this with young kids though. I mean, I know I'm doing it too, I'm getting there day by day, but it's getting so hard. When I pick Lucas up, his little knees hit me in the belly. I can't believe how much it hurts, and it almost makes me feel like I'm about to go into labour. he he. I know I shouldn't do it, but when I'm home alone and there's nobody else to give him cuddles, what else can I do?

I also realized that with 43 days to go, I haven't done all that much about, well, you know, buying stuff. Obviously we have all the basics, but Lucas is still in the cot, so we really need to buy him a bed, we're planning on putting Lucas back in cotton nappies from when I finish work, and then of course the new baby will be in them too, so I'll need a few more of those. Lucas is still in the baby car seat, so I'll need to buy him a booster that's good for his size (he's a lil small for his age), and yada yada yada, I could go on and on.

It's so annoying. I was so organized last time. Urgh.

Aside from that though, and the bit about me being a whale, life is going pretty darn good. DH and I seem to be in sync now more than ever. We get up at 5am to go to the pool which gives us plenty of time at home afterwards to get the house organized before work. The best part of the day is when Lucas has gone to bed and DH cooks me dinner. Aah gotta love that. Unfortunately my cooking skills pale in comparison, and of course he loves to boast about that to all our friends. And then we're slowly but surely getting our massive gardens cleaned up. The paddock is mowed and looks great finally, but the gardens are/were a nightmare. Need so much more time.

Best of all Lucas started swimming lessons. Well okay, it's more like pool safety lessons, but he's going so well, and his Dad is so excited because most of our summer weekends are spent at the local swimming hole, the beach, or in my brothers backyard around his pool. But anyway, it just means that I'll feel a lot better in the coming months knowing he's that little more water wise.

Yay- I'm glad things are moving right along for you and you're doing well! It's so nice when you and hubby are on the same page. Wow, you getting up at 5am... geeze how do you do it, even if you are going to the pool! I have such a hard time with mornings!

I know what you mean! I'm certainly no where near as organised this time around, I think because I just don't get a moment to myself. I don't have the time or money to put into getting things organised this time, but I will somehow have to come up with the goods by the start of next year! I'm glad you're feeling physically better this time, I remember the cankles all too well! My husband is also a far better cook than me, and he cooks more than me these days, but he is so modest about it. I am so lucky to have him though. Sarah has been doing swimming lessons since she was 6 months old and she's now 2. She loves it and it's great for safety and building confidence. Anyway, you are sounding happy, only 43 days to go. I wish you all the best for the remainder!
