| 13-9-2009 - 35 Weeks | My mood while writing this blog:Happy, but a lil exhausted |
So it is the end of the weekend, nearly 9 pm. Hubby and I have the son all wrapped up in bed, we've just gotten home from having fish and chips for dinner at the beach, my brother and his wife are asleep in our living room with their 2 month old daughter (spare bedroom isn't big enough for the portacot), and I am shattered!! We have been soo busy. The last week of work has been hectic, I worked everyday trying to get on top of audits and such, then we had organized a huge Outback BBQ in our paddock for Saturday. So Thursday and Friday nights hubby was outside chopping firewood, cleaning up the lawn around the house, mowing, or setting up fire-places. From early on Saturday we were up doing last minute shopping and cleaning under the house. Guests arrived just before lunch, and were here the whole day until around midnight.
It was a great meal. We had a cob loaf and dip for a starter, and then we did Roast Beef and Lamb Stew in the camp oven, roasted potatoes, pumpkin and corn wrapped in foil with butter. I made two loaves of Damper which turned out beautifully - was sooo proud. lol. Then one of my sister-in-laws had spent the morning baking scones, so she turned up with Maple Syrup Scones, Plain, Pumpkin and Choc-chip. Beautfiul. The food was really really good. After dark we sat around one of the bigger fires, on old car seats and camp chairs, and roasted marshmallows, drank beer (or softdrink - soda - depending on your "condition") and talked and laughed. It was such a great night, but so exhausting. I didn't have a kip all day either, which really took it out of me.
During the week I seem to be able to go without a sleep during the day, but as soon as the weekend is here, I'm desperate for a sleep-in (6am is a sleep-in at our house), and an afternoon Nonna nap. So after the huge day yesterday, I was ready for some relaxation today. We spent the morning saying goodbye to family who were heading home, then we got to come home for a good rest. Lucas and I both slept till mid-afternoon. Then DH decided it would be good to have more people over to try and finish the beer, watch a bit of football, then everyone could go down to the beach for dinner.
Now of course, I am so ready for more sleep, but I know that as soon as my eyes close, it will be tomorrow, and I'll have to go to work again. I am getting over my cold though, and Lucas definitely seems to be getting better as well, so fingers crossed we have a great week. Hopefully I won't have to work every day, even if the office is busy. I am just longing for more time at home, more time with Lucas, and more time to keep the house organized. Oh, and more time with hubby, who I love and adore and would never forget to spend time with!! lol.
Goodnight girls, have a great week!! xxoo
PS Oh yeah, less than five weeks to go too. Time is flying ...
