| 07-10-2009 - 9 days to go | My mood while writing this blog:Worn out but happy |
Ladies, where do I start? I'm so buggered!! lol. I'm still working three days a week. It's not too bad really, on the days I work we get up early, and get the house organized, and when we get home, it doesn't take Lucas long to get to bed, so yay, peace and quiet. Daycare always wears him out.
But on the days I don't work, I end up laying around in my pajamas for half the morning, I can't get up the motivation to do any housework, and I always end up with a screaming child because I don't start dinner early enough. Lately it's been getting really hot and humid during the day, and I think the heat is effecting me, but mostly I think it's just the days at work that wear me out. Then I have to spend the whole next day in recovery. How sad!
One of my sister-in-laws has decided that seeing as I didn't have a baby shower with my first, I need to have one this time around. So she's organized a little bit of a mocktail party for Saturday afternoon. I'm so not opposed to gatherings and catching up with girlfriends, but I'm dreading the presents. Its not like we need anything, and I feel kinda greedy, even though it wasn't my idea. But oh well, I'm sure I'll have heaps of fun - assuming I don't go into labour early. lol.
So happy to report that I still haven't gotten any swelling whatsoever. And everything was looking good at antenatal yesterday. The baby's heartbeat was at 120, which I thought was a little low, but the midwife didn't seem too concerned. Have any of you ladies had a baby with a heartbeat that low? Lucas always seem to be around 140 - 150.
I haven't had any Braxton Hicks, but then I didn't get any last time either. And I didn't get false labour. That's leaving me pretty hopeful that as soon as I feel a contraction, it'll be the real thing, but nothing as yet. There is a lot of movement down there, and what feels like a lot of head-butting. The hospital here doesn't check for dialation at each visit, but I just feel like things are happening. I'm so excited. Is that weird? I'm looking down the barrel of a minimum of 4 hours (if I'm lucky) of hard labour, and yet I can't wait to feel that first contraction. Maybe it's because I won't have to go to work!! lol. I really do need to finish up, but I've told my boss that if I don't go into labour, I'll work through till next Thursday. Yes, I am crazy. It'll be the day before I'm due.
Sorry for the long blog. Take care, and good luck to those ladies who're pregnant, and lots of baby dust to those TTC. For the women who've just had their little bundle of joy's, treasure the moment!
xoxo
