| 16-12-2009 - Dr. Appointment | My mood while writing this blog:Good |
Hmmm, where do I start? I got back from an appointment, but that was a few hours ago, and my brain is a little foggy. Hahaha, pregnancy brain. (forgot to ask the Dr. about that). Anyway, I took the glucose test at 1:20 PM and when we got there, we were early, and the nurse called my name- and I was like, "What? I can't take the test yet..." So I responsibly told her the name, as I really want it to be accurate. She directed me to the bathroom, took the urine test, and I went to the room with my husband. My blood pressure was on the "higher end" (but my husband heard "not dangerous"... how come I didn't hear it?) 144/88... Then the doctor came in and the questions started. I wrote everything down. I told her I haven't been feeling well. She went step by step through the list, sometimes telling me "It's normal." (Like the itching and shortness of breath even when laying down). However, she was concerned about the high blood pressure and excess weight gain in a short amount of time. *I haven't seen her in 5 weeks so she said some of that is attributed to time, but she said I have 8 pounds of fluid retention in my legs*. She informed me that the symptoms could be pre-toxemia, but if I had it this early (and it would be rare), the symptoms are severe. I felt pretty nervous during the appointment because I didn't know what I have, etc. We ended up talking a lot, which is good that I can talk to her, and was told to talk to her if anything, so it felt inviting. Then, my blood was drawn and +1 of protein found in my urine, so I had more blood drawn to be sent. Right there, I was so nervous and my mind was freaked. I felt like I was predicting my doom. So the Dr. wants to see me next week. She told me to be drinking a lot of water.
The good news? Dr. said, "She will be staying in there for 7 weeks at MINIMUM"... for my little baby. I heard her heart beating too, and hubby came by to grab my hand when my blood was drawn. :)
