04-6-2009 - Finally

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

For almost a year and a half my husband and I have been trying to conceive. Last year I was told to keep track of all of my periods and intercourse for 3 months and see if we are trying on the right ovulation days. Well we kept track for over 7 months and nothing had come of it. I even did pregnancy tests every month just to make sure. It had gotten to the point both of us were blaming ourselves for not making this happen. I blamed in on my past Depo shots, which I was on for 2 years and he blamed it on possibly having weak swimmers. After so long of trying we just let it go, I kept track of myperiods still but nothing more and put the idea to rest.

May comes around and my ovulation days pass by and I think nothing of it. I start to experience shortly sometime after major pains in my nipples. I didn't think much of it at first thinking my husband could of caused the issue so I went about my days. A week plus goes by and still the pains but now both my breasts were aching in pain and hurt to touch and lay on. It donged on me then that maybe I should get a test. My husband wen to the store and got me the same tests we had used for over a year and got me the one with 2 in the box. I didn't rush to it when he got home, I waited some time before I wen't to the bathroom. I peed on the stick just like all the times before, I waited just like all the times before, and I expected it to read negative like it did all the times before. I almost left the bathroom forgetting it on the counter. I picked it up and there it was 2 lines in dark blue. I grabbed the box and read it 3 times before shoving the stick in my back jean pocket and calmly going downstairs. I went to my computer sat down and wrote a forum post. I told my husband there was a post he might want to read and directed him to where it was at. I stood behind him as he read it, wasn't long before we turned around saying "Really"? At that moment I pulled the stick out of my pocket and showed him. He was excited but made me take the other test to make sure. Again it was positive.

I think he was in shock or something because the rest of the day he said it was sinking in. I knew he was excited tho because everytime I walked by him he did this weird little smile which started to creep me out. I will be making a doctors appointment soon. My calander I kept track of tells me that I would of gotten prego on the 15th of May. My last period was on April 21st so from the calculations I would be due on February 5, 2010.

We have picked out a name for a girl already. We both really want a girl. If she appears her name will be Nora Jade Jewell. I cross my fingers and hope for the best.
