| 01-7-2009 - Doc and baby | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
Today I had my first doctors appointment. Cha-Chi had to work but took the last few hrs of work off so he could go with me. I brought Kayden along because I figured it would make a bigger impact if he saw the baby instead of me just telling him it was there.
We wen't in first for my sonogram and everyhting was great. The nurse was really nice and the gel wasn't cold like some are. The baby had a strong heart beat of 180 and well looked like a baby. After we were done there and the nurse printed out some pics of us to bring home (free of cost) we wen't into the room to meet my doctor Dr. Teply. While waiting I showed Kayden the pic and asked him what he saw and his response was "water". I told him no thats a baby. His eyes bulged out and he said so excidedly there's a baby in your tummy, really? I asked him if he wanted a brother or sister and he said he didn't know its so hard to decide.
The nurse came in asked a few questions and got me to once again pee in a cup, which I have become a pro at doing. Kayden went on and on about how he wanted the baby to come out right now. The nurse said he was a real ham lols. Then Kayden popped the big question we all fear to answer, how does the baby come ouut? I don't know how I did it but what came out was the doctor will take it out like magic. Well that was a huge hit with him so it worked for me :D
My doctor is a tall skinny man maybe mid to late 40's and very friendly. I was told my blood pressure was great and all of my blood work came back with good results. I am A+ as I thought I was but I couldnt remember. After a few minor questions I was given a huge bag full of magazines and info as well as free samples, a pregnancy organizer and a book from the hospital I want to deliver at.
After all that was done I had to go give blood one more time cause the first time the place I had it done at did not test me for HIV so I wen't in and got that done right away. I was told that between week 11 and 13 we can go to the hospital and have more testing done to check for signs of down syndrome. I am going to check with my insurance and see if it is covered. I don't think it will hurt to do the testing since all I do is give more blood and they look at different cells etc.
