12-1-2010 - Jan12 Doc Visit

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

My doctor is away on vacation for a week :0. Today I was given a doctor or should I say Doc/Midwife named Leslie, she was AMAZING!!!!! Even tho I was sitting half naked on her table I had no worries. She was this short happy go lucky lady and frankly I would have no problem with her from the beguinning being my doctor :D Anyways so she gets to know me a bit and does some measurements. I am from top to bottom measuring to be about 38.5 cm's which lands me at being at least a half week ahead of schedule, YAY. She said she thinks I am still 4cm dialated maybe even 5 if not more but she is having a hard time telling cause my cervix is so thin for it being my 2nd time and that I am really squishy LOLS. I have no clue umm if thats a good thing but okay...She said when she pushed on babies head which was infact still down he would freely move away, or float as she said. Pretty much she said she couldnt believe I was still dialated like that and my cervix was so thin and told me he can come at any time.

She informed me with info on how delivery works with the doctors being on call etc. If by chance my doctor is not on call the day I go into labor I owuld end up with which ever of the 7 in the clinic were on call at the time. I requested to have on my file that if my doc is not present I would 2nd prefer her to be there. I also met her assistant mid wife and she was awesome too. Good thing is that when Leslie is not on call her other mid wife is on call so I would end up with one of them. I think this is a good thing since I am not doing drugs and mid wives can really help the process along cause they know how to help manage pains and will be there for me more than an OB would be.

The lady at the appointment counter was shocked of my condition as well and asked me if I had my membranes swept today and I said nooo...??? She said it is uncomfortable and it sucks but it will make the baby come out. She suggested me even possibly asking for it next week if I still havent given birth yet. I am not sure if I personally want to go through that route.

So I am just a walking time bomb waiting to go off lols. Everything is good and baby is just taking his sweet time torturing me hahaha. I hope I go into labor tonight or thursday so I get Leslie ot help me out <3
