| 25-2-2009 - 38 weeks and Frustrated | My mood while writing this blog:anxious |
Since the end of January I've been a candidate for induction at 36-39 weeks (doc found harmful antibodies in my system). The antibodies never affected my daughter badly (just her growth rate is slow), so they keep putting induction off. The problem is I've been in the mindset of delivering at 39 weeks. Now my body won't act right; I'm not dialating or effacing or anything. So, my doc says I may have to carry to 40 weeks. I know I'm being silly because some women wait 42 weeks to meet their blessing, but I'm just so anxious now and ready to hold her. They shouldn't have gotten my hopes up! Needless to say, I'm thinking of taking something (stool softner or castor oil or something) to speed up the process. My doc actually encourages it because she said she's not inducing until my body does SOMETHING. What do you ladies think? Let nature take its course or help nature out a little?
