22-6-2009 - thank you!!! Father's Day...and more

My mood while writing this blog: GREAT!!!

Thank you ladies for the advice on my last blog. It was really helpful and helped me make a decision...about more than just Father's Day.

Jayde and I stayed in Charlotte with my dad ALL weekend, until about 3pm today. I called Rol and asked him if he wanted to come to us or meet me or help with gas so he could see Jayde on Father's Day. Well, he just acted all nonchalant and said "that's ok". So, I was like cool and THOROUGHLY enjoyed my time with my fam. :-) I don't know if this'll mean anything to him, but I've decided to let him change if he wants to (I'm going to be praying that he does). The weekend was nice though. We took my dad for dinner and gave him his gifts, and then just sat around and talked and enjoyed the babies (i have a 18 month old nephew too). My fam is really close and Jayde is really starting to get to know them; we'll definitely be spending a lot more time there this summer.

So Jayde and I got back around 4:30 today and did I call/text Rol to see if he wanted to see his daughter??? NOPE! We came on in and we're having a good time playing and talking. Then, Rol texted me and said "hey...when can i come see da pretty girl?" I was real nonchalant, didn't get an attitude and just said, "whenever ur ready". He was knocking on my door 20 minutes later lol. When i handed Jayde over to him, she screamed at the top of lungs. I said, "Jayde baby, mommy's right here and she's not goin anywhere...Rol, she just isn't used to you and scared for me to leave her..." He handed her back, took my trash/diapers to the dump, came back in, and asked if he could come back tonight and stay to do her in the middle of the night feeding(s). He did get to hold her for about an hour, but I couldn't leave her side. He left here not too long ago to run some errand, but claims he's coming back.

I feel bad Jayde doesn't know/bond with her dad, but I definitely understand why and i think he does now too. Hopefully, this will help him change...but if not I'm not gonna stress it or try to force it. Man, it feels good to let this go...

Well, we'll see if Rol returns for the midnight feeding(s); i'll let yall know. Thanks again, ladies! I feel great this evening and think it'll last!!! :)

PS~ What did you all do for Father's Day?? I hope you made it special by treating the fathers(s) in your life right!
