My mood while writing this blog: still great! |
So, I'm going to try to do more blogging about my lil princess and my life as a mother. I know I won't completely stop talking about Rol (i mean he is my BD), but I just won't spend ALL my time on him. Before I leave that topic though...he DID come back last night. He came back around 11:30pm and slept on the couch. He didn't hear Jayde wake up for her feeding, so I had to wake him up; but, he fed her and rocked her back to sleep. Then, he and I talked for awhile just about everything...made me feel better to get some things from the past off my chest so I can really let go. So yeah, things are still good...woke up feeling great!
My babygirl is almost 4 months old (in a week from tomorrow). She is doing so much at this point. During tummy time she can lift her head 90 degress, she tries to scoot (kinda crawl), she babbles ALL the time, she holds her bottle sometimes, she grabs at objects and smiles intentionally, when i put her down to sleep she only cries for maybe 10mins., only wakes up once per night...next milestone: sleeping THRU the night lol. She is such a joy, and because of her i'm trying to do better in my spiritual life. I love being a mom, even with all the frustration and not sleeping in! I know you ladies agree this is a job for only the strong, but it is sooooo rewarding.
My question is: when can I get Jayde's ears pierced? Or, when did you get your daughter's ears pierced? I wanna get hers done while i'm on break and was just wondering when's a good time. I think I might put up a poll too, so ppl can reply there.

Tuesday, 23 Jun I pierced my daughters ears before she turned two months... they pierced her ears one at a time, and she did not cry for the first one, but the second one she did. My mom had my aunt pierce my ears in the hospital the day after I was born, crazy ladies!!! But I am glad that we got hers done so early because I know that she won't remember the pain!!! NylahsMom -
Tuesday, 23 Jun First let me say.. it was a good step for Rol coming back and spending time with Jayde and actually doing what he said he was going to do.. but enough of him :) I actually got Nylah's ears pierced when she was 4 months.. I've heard alot of people say once they get there 2 month shots you can get them done, some even earlier than that. I would prefer getting them done while they are young b/c they don't remember that pain (the little pinch that it is) and being that young they don't wiggle around as much. I took my daughter to Claire's and got her 14kt studs, it took maybe 5 seconds each .. she cried just a little wimper but Mommy was right there to get her as soon they were finished. Most important is the cleaning.. they tell you to clean them 3 times a day for 6 weeks and at Claire they give you a cleaning kit along with the purchase of the earrings... also remember to turn them after each cleaning. I think little girls look soooo adorable with little studs in their ears.. such cutie pies, and if in the future she doesn't want them she can always let her hole close up. jadestar -
Tuesday, 23 Jun Hey, i have had my ear piercings since 8 months old, my lil sister had hers since 5 months old. Anyway, i couldn't bring myself for a whole year to get Jade's ears pierced. She's so perfect and i just could not destroy that wholesome look of hers, the way she came into this world. Anyway, so last week i went to the jewelry store. I decided spontaneously to have her ears, done, i mean, i knew i would want to do it at some point so that was the day. I bought the cute studs, they told me i first had to pierce her ears with the surgical steel ones and then i can replace them after three weeks with the daimond studs the i got her. Anyway, so the guy had trouble marking her ears, she wouldn't keep still, then after that he had trouble piercing them, she started crying. I just said "NO, it's ok, maybe some other time." I left even though i already paid for the surgical studs and the procedure. Anyway, i will try it some other time because i just couldn't bear to see her suffering for something that was cosmetic and not medical. Anyway, i think i will try again next week when she's asleep. My mom suggested i send her with someone else since it's so hard for me to see, but that i could never do. i don't want them hurting my baby and then she wonders why is this happening, where's my mommy, why she allow them to hurt me! So next week, i'm going to take her back again. I'm gonna do it when she gives me the cue. Lol, goodluck, it's probably gonna be hard for u too. In my country babies get their ears pierced from three months. Don't know, maybe there is people who think the younger the better. I'm just waiting for my Jade to sit still so we can actually get it over and done with. BTW, im so glad Rol came back. I think he is slowly but surely getting there. Just try not to fall pregnant again through all the "nightfeeding" LOL! Goodluck, girl, mwah!
