03-7-2009 - Free At Last!!!

My mood while writing this blog: excited for the future

So Independence Day this year is going to have new/different meaning. I am free and independent of this lil boy who was holding me back for the past 2 years. I think Rol is really just gonna leave Jayde and I alone, kinda by force. He's had his dad, mom, and 2 aunts call me in the last 48 hours. His aunt is talking about he is under advisement from all 4 of his aunts and mom not to talk to me and i'm not to talk to him either. She said if my baby needs something to contact one of them, not Rol. So, I asked her if Rol was gonna try to see his daughter. She said when he wants to see her, one of them will come pick her up. Well, i know for a fact that legally i only have to let Rol see Jayde. So I told his aunt i had done this alone for 4 months and none of them had cared about Jayde's well being before (mind you this is the aunt that has only seen Jayde ONCE and it's cuz she saw me at church and happened to see us in the lobby). I told her i would not be contacting them for help and if any of them called my number again i would call the police for harassment. Then, i let her know that unless Rol contacts me or works to see his daughter, i wasn't doing nething illegal and my babygirl wouldn't be going with anyone else. Of course, i wouldn't let her go with Rol either; he'll have to meet us in public or go thru courts to get a different legal visitation order drawn up. I cannot believe he has the nerve to be giving out my number to ppl i do not know like that and that these ppl actually think i would hand over my lil girl to any of them!!! I'm just glad he's "not allowed" to talk to me cuz now i don't have to deal with him. Plus, if he goes 3 months not contacting me i can tell the courts he abandoned his child and they will force him to sign over his rights. Then, he really can't bother us ever again!

I've been trying so hard to do everything in the best interest of Jayde (having both parents involved). It's no longer in her best interest to have her father around. Maybe one day he'll grow up and man up, but until then I'm happy to do this on my own. So, today, on the eve of this nation's independence...I declare me and my babygirl independent of Roland!!! We'll do better not to be stressed and worried by him and/or his fam. :) Guess it's back to TRUE single motherhood.

Everybody have a fun and safe 4th of July! I can't wait to put Jayde in her 4th of July outfit...we're going to a festival downtown with the fam, so it should be fun. Talk to y'all laterz! :-)
