20-10-2009 - Daisy

My mood while writing this blog: Confused

We have 2 dogs, McKenna is a 3yr old Lab that is WONDERFUL with our son, lets him lay on her, pull her fur, touch her paws/ears/eyes/mouth, she is so adaptable with the different places we've lived, its been a tiny apartment, trailer with a yard, back into an apartment, then another apartment 250mi away, headed back out into a place with a yard in July2010.. she copes well and is very patient with my pregnancies, being that I can't always rush her down to go potty immediately, but she doesn't fuss or act out.. we also have a 1 1/2 yr old Chihuahua/Jack Russell named Daisy, we got Daisy when we had a miscarriage in Mar2008, she was kind of my healing dog and she was wonderful for the most part, her puppy phase was just what I needed to distract me from the pain of the loss, however we could have never known that she would not like babies, so now we have a 10 month old and I'm 27 weeks pregnant, she has not adapted well to our moving (we are a military family, so its not going to chill out anytime soon), she hides with her ears tucked when she is in the room with Maddox, and when they interact through the baby gate that keeps them seperate she is alright with it at first then just goes in the other room.. I'm afraid she's going to nip his nose or lip or something (not mean, but either way) ... so I've been torn on whether or not to let her go to someone else... I don't want her to be stuck in the kitchen until Avery (I'm 27weeks pregnant with her) is what? 3? 4? 5? thats too long for her to be ostracised from the family within the house, so I feel like we should let her LIVE IN a different family.. BUT she stands for so much... I just don't know what to do... do right by her and find her a family that fits her better or keep her because I love her?
