I wonder if it's even worth it to have a baby shower. We just moved to this state and I've only made 3 friends. My husband gets along great w/ all my girlfriends husbands which is fun. I don't think any of these girls are going to offer to through me a baby shower. We have only known each other less than a year. Should my husband through me a shower??? It's only 3 girls. Should I invite the husbands too? Is that weird? I bake really well. I could make a cake and serve soda. That's all I can afford. Is it worth it? Thanks for your input.

just another thought..you can wait a bit longer and do a shower in a few months. like late Jan or early Feb and make more friends by then. :) I will invite couples to mine as I have a bunch of friends who are couples and would not want to exclude the males. I dont think its fair or nice..well, I am not American so it doesnt bother me anyway.

you should have a baby shower. think of some more people who know you or know your hubby and invite them too. :) you can do cake, soda, chips and salsa stuff like that. i was at a baby shower last wkend and it was a bit low budget but nice. it is even nicer if you bake a cake it is more special.

I am always nervious to throw a shower when I dont know anyone I had a birthday party and invited new friends when I moved and lets just say the turn out wasnt great. Its a tough situation...what about a lunch baby shower date...see if you could get the girls to go out to lunch and call it a little celibration for the new baby and tell them gifts are optional...then you dont have to worry about feeding lots of people and they can all buy there own meals and you can just chat. Good luck!!

Yes! I think you should. I think women should have a shower each baby cause I look at it like each baby is a gift from God and a huge blessing. They each should get their own celebration. Its like what do I tell this baby well sorry honey you were the 6 child so you didnt get a shower. You put all these things in your baby book for memories. Have a shower and baby celebration!!!! It will be worth it. I would also invite the husbands and just have a big day of it!! I hope that helps!
