| 19-8-2008 - Moving but where? | My mood while writing this blog:Confused |
Okay so like me and my husband are having yet another issue! Right now we are saving to buy a house, we plan on purchasing within the next couple of months. The problem is where? My husband and I have 2 different tastes in environments that we like which is causing a problem for us deciding where to buy this house.
MY HUSBANDS IDEA: His idea is moving about 45 mins- to an hour in the middle of no where by a lake. This is the place where he grew up that he absolutley hated! Why move there I have no clue. He considers the lake a relaxing area (I agree) but to get somewhere we would have to drive about 45 mins which is too far for me! Another thing is this area does have some nice houses but there are also a lot of run down houses. Houses you look at and think "someone actually lives in that?" When my husband was growing up this place had/has a bad name. I don't want my kids growing up in a place that has a bad name. At first I agreed to the idea because we were out on the boat and it was relaxing and fun but then I get to thinking what about when Mason and this baby get older and want to do something we will have to drive forever to get there and it will just suck. Not to mention my family is about an hour away if we moved out there.
MY IDEA: So I decided to try to compermize and agree with the country setting (that I liked anyway) and I told him I wouldn't mind getting a house on a back road somewhere in between where we are now and about a half hour away which is closer to where he orignally wants to go. I would like a house in a country setting but be able to run to a city if I need something or to do something fun on the weekends and not have to drive forever.
Neither of us like to have close neighbors. We like our privacy. So I told him my idea and he got all mad and told me to find someone else to live with blah blah blah (didn't mean it). But I am dead set on not moving out there. I can't that is just too much for me. Him on the other hand can adapt to other places. This is just causing us a huge dilema. Did any of you have this problem with picking a house to buy? I thought this was suppose to be a fun time but to me it's nothing but stressful. I'm about to say lets just rent for the rest of our lives which I really don't want to do but if it would save us some stress. Any advice on what to do in this type of situation? I do want him to be happy as well but I just don't get why he has to be out in the middle of nowhere.
Sorry about the rambling, I just need some advice on this confusing situation!! Thanks in advance!!
