My mood while writing this blog: confused |
Do they ever end? I swear life is so complicated sometimes. So here is the problem now.
Justin (my husband) calls me at his lunch to tell me that they are switching insurance back to blue cross blue shield my first reaction is YAY! they were cheap before this is great. WRONG! they went up even higher than what we are paying now. $170 a week. WTF?!?! Do the math that is almost $700 a month- A freaking house payment! I am so mad right now, after we hung up I just started crying. Justin is refusing to pay that much but Hello? I'm pregnant, I need insurance. What in the world am I going to do? I can totally understand him not wanting to pay that much especailly when we are trying to save to buy a house right now. I'm not sure what to do ladies. Should I look for a mid wife? I heard they are cheaper. Should I do a home birth? Should I try to get medicaid? Should I look for insurance else where?
Man, Problems! I'm so confused and now getting stressed again, not good. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help! Thanks in advance!!!

Thursday, 4 Sep HEY GOOD GOLLY,I THOUHT US MOVING TO THE STATES WOULD HELP,BUT AS ITS JUST AS EXPENSIVE THERE I THINK I WILL STAY.LOL.IM REALY NOT SURE WHAT U SHOULD DO,COZ IM FROM THE OTHERS SIDE OF THE WORLD WHERE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS FREE,NOT EVEN A PLAIN GLASS OF WATER.LOOKS LIKE MEDICAID WILL BE THE BEST BET NOW.WE HAVE MEDICAL AID WHICH SOUNDS LIKE IS EQUAL TO YOUR INSURANCE AND WE PAY R4500 WHICH IS $600.AND GET THIS,WE STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR ULTRASOUND SCANS WHICH IS A $100 EACH TIME AND $160 FOR A 3D AND 4D.AND THEY DONT COVER VITAMINS AND CERTIAN MEDS I HAVE TO DRINK.AND ALMOST NO ONE CAN AFFORD TO BUY THEIR OWN HOME AS ITS $1500 A MONTH REPAYMENT.BLOODY CRAZY.DONT KNOW WHERE THIS WORLD IS GOING TO,RICH IS GETTING RICHER AND POOR IS GETTING POORER.I TRUELY HOPE AND PRAY THAT U GET MEDICAID OTHERWISE IM SURE MIDWIFES AND HOMEBIRTHS ARE A MUCH CHEAPER OPTION.SORRY ME GOING ON ABOUT PRICES BUT I ALSO NEEDE TO VENT.PLEASE POST AS SOON AS U KNOW WHAT U GONNA DO.HAVE LOVELY DAY AND THE BEST OF LUCK:-) -newnaam -
Thursday, 4 Sep apply for medicad it's worth a shot. I mean the worst they can do is say NO. I don't know how it is where you live but here in Mass if you don't qualify for medicad they have other programs available based on your income. We have blue cross blue shield too and it's REALLY Expensive. Takes a huge chunck out of my husband's check each month, so I know how you feel .. it sucks. I wish you luck. njfran -
Wednesday, 3 Sep Since your pregnant, you can easily get pregnancy Medicaid and they do pay for everything. Just make sure to find a private OB that accepts Medicaid so you don't have to go to a clinic or anything. But I think that Medicaid is your best bet! phillygirl2 -
Wednesday, 3 Sep You should try to get medicaid. That is outrages to have to pay that much per month for insurance. I don't know how medicaid is there but in Philly and Fl. they pay for everything. Also, you should easily qualify because you are pregnant
