28-5-2009 - First Prenatal Appt.

My mood while writing this blog: Absolutly amazed!

So, today i had my first prenatal. It was intense. i had a complete physical done. Your probably all going to laugh at this but i always thought i was ATLEAST 5'2 lol .... nope. im 5'1 and 3/4 haha almost 5'2 but not quite. that was disapointing haha, and i weighed in at 137 lbs. which surprised me cus i thought it was more. anyways, my blood pressure was good. She obviously did a pap smear... YAY ha. everything down there looked perfect, then she felt my uterus and said i am growing pretty good. and then the most amazing part of all happened. she got out this little machine and placed it on my very low abdomen. she said "We don't usually hear a heartbeat this early, but we might aswell try anyways, and if we dont hear it, it means nothing." well, she searched and searched, there was lots of static and of course my own heartbeat, then..... she found it!!! omg what a beautiful little sound. i couldnt stop smiling. So, my doctor said i dont get an ultrasound till 18-23 weeks. THATS SO LONG!! or... i could get an ips test done, which include 2 sets of blood tests and an ultrasound to see if the baby has down syndrome, they just look at the skin on the neck. i think i am going to get that done so that i can see the baby, and just to hopefully rule out the possibility of a genetic disorder or down syndrome. soo, thats pretty much it.
OH... almost forgot, Matt's dad finally knows. lol funny story!

i get home from appt, and go down stairs wit matt, and he yells down "so, Megan, when are you due?" and i was like "What?... what do you mean??" hes like "you know what i mean...when are you do?" so i whiper to matt " SAY SOMETHING!! lol " we were both hysterically laughing lol then matt yells out "around christmas" and his dad goes "oh ya... i hope not!!" then nothing more was said. About 3 hours later he comes downstairs and leans on the couch... and says "so, really.... when are you due lol?" and matts like "christmas?" lol and hes like "for real?"
matt: "yea"
his dad: "are you kidding?"
matt: "no"
his dad: "Holy F*^$!"


lol.... yup. thats how it went lol so now he knows. He's not happy, but he is dealing with it, and no more has been mentioned of it.
