18-12-2009 - Another round in the hospital BoredMy mood while writing this blog:
Bored

So, I'm in again for asthma. I called my pulmologist over a week ago when I was feeling bad. He called in a Zpak and some steriods. When I finished those, my peak flow was down to 300 and I was coughing up blood. Called him back (didn't think he needed to see me), and was put on another zpak and round of steriods.

I saw my OB a few days after who actually listened to my lungs, which she said sounded horrible. She decided right then and there to admit me and to get me in with one of their pulmologist. Got some chest xrays and other labworks done. Looks like it's just another bad sinus infection. Currently on IV steriods.... 60 mg every 8 hours and rocephin IV antibotic once a day.

I'm in a different hospital then last time.... this time I am in the actually unit for pregnant women. Last time I was just in the women's center ... surgical floor... so I do feel like I'm getting better treatment especially when it comes to the OB part.

I thought I would get to go home by Sunday, but the pulmologist here doesn't feel comfortable lowering my steriods yet. I'm starting to have stronger contractions which in turn brings on an asthma attack. It really gets scary sometimes. They decided to give me atavan to for my nerves to see if that helps. I think my baby is going to go into shock when he's born getting off all these meds... No, I know he'll be fine, but it is a little crazy.

Well... that's my update for now. I hope everyone is having a healthy pregnancy!!!
