25-1-2010 - Confused charting. Can anyone help ? confusedMy mood while writing this blog:
confused

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on my chart. It si my first cycle charting with FF. I always knew i had irregular cycles but i never really kept track of them. So we have been TTC for four months now. (i had a very early miscarriage in first month of trying.) I am on cycle day 30! My ovulation day was predicted on day 25. I did OPK and they came back -. But my temperature has risen lately and stayed elevated for the past few days. I know it is quite hard to predict ovulation on just one cycle, but i am going crazy. We did no BD in the days leading up to predicted ovulation cause i had no idea it was on its way!! We have been trying so hard everyother day, but the week beofre O we had a bad week. Didnt fell like BD and now i am really disappointed cause we could have missed our chance to coneive this cycle.

I guess there is not much i can do but wait for AF to turn up. Are the OPKs accurate? Oh well, It is Australia Day here is Oz and i am heading off to the beach with family.

Oh and one cycle after I stopped charting and just went about it the 'natural' way, I fell pregnant! - L

Charting can be a bit difficult, confusing and frustrating in the beginning. It takes about 3 cycles to start getting the hang of it. It is understandable to be disappointed if you think you have missed O day. OPKs are accurate. You might have missed the peak though. OPKs did not work for me. Only frustarted me. However, many ladies use them and have success. From what I have read, they use them a few days before O is expected and then use them everyday, late afternoon, until they get a peak (the test line HAS to be darker than the control line or it is NOT a positive peak). LH is produced during the day so it is not advised to use it first thing in the morning. Here is a stunning website of pregnancy loss and on there is a 'recipe' for success. This is pretty much what my fertility specialist also recommend, so you can trust it. You need to adjust the start of the OPks, etc according to your cycle http://www.pregnancyloss.info/sperm_meets_egg_plan.htm. It is also considered 'normal' to take up to 6 months to fall pregnant. I am sure things will happen for you soon. Don't let the charting get you down and if it continues to do so, then maybe you should stop (I did after 4 months as I started over analysing and stressing about everything. However, by then I also felt that I have learned enough about my cycle to stop) - L
