| 18-11-2009 - Numbers Update | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
I went for another HCG test this morning at the hospital. I knew the pregnancy was not viable, but the emergency physician want to make sure there wasn't anything in my tubes that could cause harm to me. Since I wasn't very far along, not much could be seen on the ultrasound, so they have to look closer at the numbers. If my HCG levels continued to go down, then I was having a miscarriage. If not, then I could have had a tubal pregnancy. Today's test was just confirming the diagnosis... miscarriage. My levels on Monday were 48 and today (Wednesday) they are at 38. So, given the circumstances that is good. My cramping has improved and I'm not losing as much blood (although I'm still bleeding). The nurse said people can bleed for a few days, 10 days, or up to 14, it just depends on the person. My doctor's appointment is one week from Monday - 2 weeks after the miscarriage. I'm hoping to get more news then on what happened and when my husband and I can ttc again. I've heard of people starting right away and others having to wait a couple of months for their uterine lining to strengthen. I'm not sure what to expect, but hoping we can start soon.
I just want to get all of this down for my own records. I also hope that what is happening to me can help/comfort someone else who might be going through the same thing. I wish I had something great and noble to say, but all I can come up with is "This Sucks". I will remain optomistic and strong for the future though. My husband and I will try again and hopefully have a healthy baby in the near future.
