14-3-2010 - Nesting

(Happy sigh) My dishes are done, my grochery shopping is done, my laundry is done and folded, my bedroom furniture is rearranged, the spare bedroom closets have been cleaned and organised, the spare bedroom has been put to rights, 2 more garbage bags have joined the clothing donation pile, I need to clean the main bathroom but I think I am done for the day. DH is no longer fighting the cleaning sprees. Figures since I am about done with the major projects! I was going over what I have gotten done in the past 8 days (since my hormones went insane) and he said I made him feel useless. Well, so be it, the house is spring cleaned! Last Sat I cleaned out and organised my bedroom while Evie was napping, Sunday I cleaned and organised my office while Evie was napping, Monday I sold off all the furniture I wanted rid of, Tuesday I cleaned out and sorted all of Evie's toys and moved them in the office as her play room, Wed I had contractions so laid around, Thusday I cleaned out Evie's room and closet, Friday we rested, yesterday we started on the spare bedroom and did general house cleaning and today finished off my list of things to get done. The dumpster I hired should be here this week and I need to haul 9 garbage bags of clothes to the thrift store and have large item pick up come get the dog's couches. By the end of the week I will be done with my list, I wonder what will be next on my nesting instinct (I don't know what else except maybe gardening?)? I know I am crazy, I accept this. I have not even thought about playing my new video game the whole week... I really don't remember this insane urge to clean when I was preggo with Evie...

um, how much to come clean my house???? lol the nesting thing kicked in realllllly bad a few weeks ago but then cramps set in so I've had to ease up.

you are AWESOME mama! That's a super impressive list you got done there! I didn't do half that for our appraisal and I felt accomplished! lol! As for nesting more with the second baby, I was TOTALLY that way... with Bekah I had maybe one day of nesting where I vacuumed literally every square inch and did some basic cleaning... I didn't nest till after she was here.. once she was here I just wanted to scrub EVERYTHING cuz it wasn't clean enough for her! lol! But when I was pregnant with Sarah, the entire pregnancy I was cleaning, organizing and scrubbing, I even scrubbed down the walls on several different occasions! lol! I think it's normal to nest more with the second..

That's awesome as long as you are not overdoing it. Things that you have wanted to do for ages can now get done.
