MinnesotaMoms - Thursday, 21 May
Well, this week was full of drama, yet again, but baby Julian seems to be hanging in there.
I went to the hospital the other night because I was concerned about the frequency and intensity of some cramps i was having. I thought it might have been some serious gas, but considering everything else, i decided it would be best to have it checked out.

So I go to the ER ,and once admitted I end up in a room with a monitor strapped to my belly for over 2 hours. The monitor was looking for contractions.

The doctor finally came back and started poking around and declared that my cervix was really thin and partially open...which means, in otherwords...MISCARRIAGE!!!!
When I asked her point blank if I was having a miscarriage...she hemmed and hawed and shrugged and frowned and told me I would have to spend the night because I was having contractions and needed to be monitored.
Thank god they had some serious drugs to give me otherwise I never would have fallen asleep!
The next day, the male doctor with the longer fingers told me he could feel my cervix (even though he said I win top honors for having the weirdest feeling uterus on account of my large fibroid! lol!) and he couldn't feel any openings. He said it felt normal. So I go and get one of those tubal ultra sounds and that showed that my cervix was closed and long like it should be. Did I want to go pop that female doctor upside her head for making me worry unnecessarily?????? Oh, you bet, and then some....grrrr!

So they gave me some pills to stop further contractions and sent me home that next day. I am really starting to feel Julian moving a lot inside his little room. Of course he is particularly active when mommy is trying to sleep. I am just relieved he is safely tucked inside.
