My mood while writing this blog: sleepy |
My Birth PlanBirth PhilosophyWe ask that the practitioner discuss with us any procedures or medications prior to administration and that we be allowed the chance to question such procedures before giving informed consent.
The EnvironmentI'd like these people to be in the room with me: My Partner and My Mom.
Minimal Interruptions and to videotape and/or take pictures.
The Labor ExperienceVaginal Delivery with pain medications only if I request it. Please do not offer it to me.
I'd like to spend the first stages of labor walking around.
I want to manage my pain with breathing techniques, massage and an epidural only if requested.
The DeliveryWhen pushing I'd like to use people for leg support.
I'd also like to push when directed by nurses, see the birth in a mirror & touch my baby's head as it crowns.
I only want to have an episiotomy only as a last resort.
If an assisted birth becomes necessary, I'd rather have it be at the practitioner's discretion.
When delivering the baby I'd like to help catch the baby.
If a cesarean becomes necessary I would like the surgery explained to me as it happens and for my partner to be with me at all times.
After DeliveryMy partner would like to cut the umbilical cord.
I would like to see the placenta after it is delivered.
Immediately after delivery; please place the baby on my abdomen.
I would like to breastfeed later.
I would like family members to join us and the baby in the room right after delivery.
I'd like my baby's medical exam to be performed after we've had a chance to bond.
First HoursI don't need to be there for my baby's first bath.
I plan to breastfeed and formula feed and I would like the help of a lactation specialist.
I'd like my baby in my room 24 hours.
I'd like my partner to have unlimited visitation.
I'd like family members to also have unlimited visitation.
I do want my baby boy circumcised and my partner would like to be present.
I'd like my stay in the hospital to be as short as possible.
If my baby needs special care, I'd like to hold my baby whenever possible.

Saturday, 17 Oct Girl, I want them to take the baby and clean it first before they bring me the baby. I like how you thought about everything that you want to do. Since I am a vegan and not getting my baby vaccinated I had to write a letter telling them not to give my baby any vaccinations or the antiboitic oniment that they put in the baby eyes. faith09 -
