My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
On the night before/morning of Saturday the 12th I was having
contractions for about 4 hours every 5 mins. I was also having back
pain and crampy feelings. The next day I was so sore all over,
especially the ligaments down there.I got some stuff done that day,
nesting. That night i had just gotten up to pee 30 mins before and got
the biggest urge to go again. I sat down and before I could tell
myself to pee all this warm well pee i though came out. I thought ok
maybe i had to go really bad lol. Then I walked to the bed and sat down
and it did it again! Walked back to the bathroom because i was half
asleep and confused and sat down and it did it again! So I woke my
husband up saying uhh honey I think my water broke. Didn't have any
contractions yet. This was happening at 2:30 in the morning. Since his
mother lives about an hour away and she was supposed to be watching our
5 year old, we gave her at call at 3. I started having some
contractions they would get slightly painful. His mom arrived here at
4:30 which before that I had been cleaning everything like mad was
really weird. Then we waited till 6 to go in just cause i wasn't really
contracting a lot yet. When I got there they checked me which ouch!!
They said the baby must have popped the water bad with her hand or
something cause she was still high I was only 3 cms dilated and 50%
effaced. They also checked to see if the water had in fact broke which
it had. Since they couldn't get my group b test results, they wanted to
have me get one dose of antibiotics before they would give me pitocin
to help my labor along. Soo After that they checked me again and I was
still a 3-4 cm dilated and 60% effaced. Still no pain btw felt great!
Then they gave me an internal contraction monitor, Iv and blood
pressure cuff. Started the pitocin and after the 3rd increase of it I
was feeling pain. Called the Magic man for my epidural. Since I have
skulyosis (means my spine is curved) (forgive all of my spelling) One
leg was completely numb and the other was not at all. but after laying
on my right side (the non numb one) it became more numb I couldn't feel
any contractions but lots of pressure below. Then they put an internal
monitor on her head to measure her heart beat. Plus i had a catheter...
i was hooked up on every appendage and then some. Progressed to a 5
finally and 80 % effaced, then went to a 7 really quick and 90% she
said if i felt like pushing to let her know asap since she would have
to call the doc. I really wasn't sure if it was feeling that way for a
bit then all of a sudden I'm like call the doc. She checked me and said
oh you are ready to go. the next 15 mins sucked I had to try not to
push so that the doc could get there that was sooo painful. The nurse
said if the doc was there I would have delivered already! Once she go
there I got to push and it was less then 20 mins that Paige came out!
Just a tiny abrasion not even a full rip or anything, drastically
different from my first, huge cut they had to make and 20 hours of
pushing followed by a vacuum extraction. And this baby was 36 weeks 4
days my sone was 38 exactly. She is 7lbs 12 oz and 21 inched long my
son was 7lbs 6 oz and 20 1/2 inches long... I think his head was much
bigger though. This birth was a very different experience from the
first one and I'm so glad I got to do this again! Afterwards I feel
GREAT!! I came home 24hours afterward, could have came home right after
but they wouldn't let me. Baby is doing great!
