29-7-2009 - OH VEY! Evaporation line???

My mood while writing this blog:

So, I have been feeling very dizzy and lightheaded the past few days. A little nauseous, no big deal. Well, Chris keeps saying "oh, I hope you aren't pregnant, I'll die." And I'm always like, "Whatever, I'm on this stupid IUD, (that I hate)" So, today I go to the dollar store just to take their cheap-O pregnancy test just to shut him up. I take the test and it is one where the big circle, if pregnant will have a line, if not pregnant it will be blank. So I take the test and it is blank, and I show it to him, to calm him down. So, he leaves to go back to work, and I'm cleaning up the bathroom, and when I throw the test away their is a faint line in the big circle!! SOOOOO,,,,,, I read the box and of course it says to discard after ten minutes, but it was probably about 7 or 8 minutes since I had taken the test. But the results are supposed to appear in just 2 to 3 minutes or whatever. So anyways, I'm just wondering, I am on the IUD, and I've had light bleeding on and off since the IUD was put in, so I don't even know when I would have had a real period or if I've even had one yet. It's probably just evaporation lines, right?? I'm NOT going to say anything to DH about it, and I try another test in a couple days. Has anyone else had evaporation lines before? Input would be nice. THANKS!

Your hubby sounds like mine.... being preggo again surely isn't the end of the world...keep us updated on when/if you take another test!

Do a better test! At least your having sex! ;-) Wish my hubby wasn't so into his study time or games or whatever keeps him away!

My first positive pregnancy test was like that - the test really had to dry before the line was visible, but it was positive... I guess take another one in a day or two. All the best, Karin

Its possible its just a evap. line not to scare you but the only time I ever had a preg. test do that was back in september when I had my ectopic pregnancy. But i'm sure that isn't the case w/ you! I would say either its the evap. line or your pregnant. Wait a few days and test again! Good Luck

Oh geez. Not to scare you or anything but the same thing happened to me when I was pregnant with Asher. I took a test and it was negative. I had left the test on the counter. I wanted so badly to be pregnant that later on I went back into the bathroom to look at the test to see if a line had miracously popped up and to my surprise...there was one so faint you could hardly see it. So I took another one...same thing. So a couple days later I took another way and sure enough VERY PREGNANT!

I know they say that evaporation lines can happen but both of those tests I took were BFN's until about 10 or more minutes later and then a faint line would appear. I was a couple days before 4 weeks along. I was 4 weeks EXACTLY on the day I got my very clear PREGNANT.
