| 20-7-2008 - Venting | My mood while writing this blog:blah |
So, last night my husband and I went to his high school reunion! I was excited because I've never been to a high school reunion yet and mine is in 2 years. he went to an all boys school with only 190 in the graduating class. I knew it would be small and personal. It was at this really nice restaurant and everyone was dressed up. I liked the outfit I put together so I felt really good. It was cute plus you can see my pretty round tummy and of course like any proud parents we wanted to show off our latest accomplishment! Everything was going really smooth until they called all the guys up for a group picture. There were about 50 men that actually showed up. First of all I was ticked because he told me to leave the camera home. So every other wife had a camera but me!! Oh well not my reunion, so not my problem... Well then a man starts making announcements for a few wives to come up. I didn't even notice at first because I figured they were volunteers of some sort and they were being thanked. Then it hit me, all of these women were pregnant....and mind you, not one of them as big as me or showing as cute as I am :).. I looked at my Husband like I could kill him. They gave all these soon to be mommies baby t-shirts that said, "I'm just a cub...but i plan to be a tiger" it was totally cute because it was so tiny and in his school colors and all. After all the pictures were taken my husband comes up and says I'm sorry I don't know how they knew those wives were pregnant. Well needless to say my maternal instinct and my emotions kicked in. I just felt like my baby isn't even born yet and it's being left out already....and I got teary eyed. I know silly huh and over a shirt...but we go to their football games all the time and it would be so cute on a baby juping all around in the stands...
Anyway, my husband goes up to the lady from Alumni affairs and I over hear him say he's in hot water with his wife because he didn't fill out his update form and his wife is pregnant and she didn't get a baby shirt.....So he knew he messed up.... Well thankfully the lady had an extra and things were smoothed over. :) I just felt so stupid standing there with this big stomach...bigger than all the others, and no baby shirt...lol. Now my husband is convinced we're having a boy and he's sending him to his alma mater....I smell another battle!
