14-9-2009 - Oh No! scaredMy mood while writing this blog:
scared

I'm praying right now to the Good Lord that I am not loosing this baby. The craziness started Saturday night. I was on my feet all day Saturday because of work. That night, I began spotting. It was light and not different from what I had experienced about 3 weeks earlier so I didn't worry much. It was clear with a red tint and stopped rather quickly. Sunday was reassuring because my discharge was brown. I was thinking it was old blood and the episode would soon be behind me. Most of the work day today was rather uneventful. Praying and keeping my fingers crossed that everything was in deed back to normal. After work, I went to the grocery store then arrived home to the worst surprise. I felt a gush from below and ran to the bathroom. The blood started flowing with not end in sight. It was bright red but very watery. All I could think was that it must have been blood mixed with amniotic fluid. Frightened, I immediately called my doctor who told me to come in right away. Cutting to the chase here: The first thing the doctor did was perform an ultrasound. The baby looked fine....heart beat was strong and the placenta looked fine. He did say that there may be a separation that we can't see that could be causing the bleeding. Since the ultrasound didn't reveal the source of the bleeding, he did a pelvic exam. My cervix was closed and he simply couldn't see where the bleeding is coming from. My doctor said he was cautiously optimistic that I am not having a miscarriage. He did tell me to take it easy for the rest of the week (no work) and pray. He was the first doctor to tell me to pray. That made me feel good.

I don't have a choice but to accept that there is absolutely nothing I can do but pray at this point. God is the only one in control and I pray that he allows this little life inside of me to grow and be a part of our lives. I've allowed myself to dream, to imagine, and fantasize what life will soon be like with our precious in it. Lord, please let this come true.

MommaGiGi - Tuesday, 15 Sep
Thank you all for the prayers and encouragement. I'm home and feeling fine although I'm still bleeding. What I'm having the most problem with is the fact there's no explanation. Holding on to hope that in March we will have a baby with a wonderful testimony.
