Today was my regular monthly OB appointment which happened to fall one week after I started bleeding. Firstly, the baby is doing great. He/She was moving about with a strong heartbeat. Towards the end of the ultrasound, the doctor discovered the cause of my bleeding. I have some placental separation towards the lower edge that he thinks could also be a sinus. He said it can be difficult to tell the difference. My prognosis is good. He thinks that it should correct itself and that I don't need bed rest as long as I take it easy at work. I am still experiencing light spotting off and on so my only major restriction is no sex.
I feel like a ton has been lifted off my shoulders. Just "knowing" makes me feel lighter. The joy of the visit was being able to record my baby. I've watched it at least 5 times since returning home.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers.....a quick healing of my placenta.

That is great news ! Wow - what a relief to know that the baby is doing well. I know how hard it is to take it easy but just being pregnant at "our age" is a miracle. Give yourself a break and just take it one day at a time. I have to remind myself of that all the time. Hang in there !!

It must be relief to at least know what is behind the bleeding. I hope it will correct itself and you can go on to have a healthy and happy pregnancy!
