19-3-2009 - Not the best day....

My mood while writing this blog:
sick

I am 11 weeks pregnant today and I think I have the worst cold in history! How did this happen and why me? I am very diligent about hand washing and avoiding sick people. I am taking super awesome vitamins everday. I know my immune system is weakened from being pregnant. How did I get so sick?
At work yesterday I was very thirsty despite drinking 9 glasses of water all day, I am sneezing and also coughing so hard I thought I would vomit. I pulled something in my neck and I have the worst chills.
I haven't taken my temperature but DH feels my head and says I am fine.
I called my OB to ask her what is ok to take and she said tylenol, sudafed and saline nose drops. I guess I should up my fluid intake.
I made chicken soup today when I got home from starting my second job of all things. Thank God it was a 1/2 day but I could not call out - it was my first day. It went well.
I work full time and Thursdays WERE my "day off" but now I am working 1/2 days at another clinic.
I think maybe I should call out of my full time job tomorrow to rest.
This can't be good for the wee one inside.
You think I should see a doctor? My OB asked if I went to my primary care physician. I guess I will see how I am tomorrow. I just need to rest but I feel like that is all I am doing lately. My tailbone actually hurts from sitting ALL day at work (LOL).
Just be thankful you are not me right now....or my poor husband. I was a sniffling, sneezing, slobbering mess last night. I tried to be good and go to bed super early - but I wound up wide awake at 2 am, freezing and miserable.
What should I do? Anyone know if Echinacea is ok?

I know exactly what you are going thought!! I went to urgent care this AM. cause when I woke up this morning my eyes were crusted shut as well as all the other crud I have and you too. so I have an infection in both eyes and my ob also told me to do the same as yours also cough drops as well I love the halls vitimin C ones in the citrus flavor. my hubby isnt here to baby me I just moved back home to WA and he is leaving CO with all our stuff and fur babies in the next hour or so. we got doggie downers from the vet so hope he gets here with all 3 and dosnt toss any out the winder on the way...( he really wouldnt he knows I would KILL him) I took a nice hot err warm bath and felt a little better so maybe try that..good luck and feel better I know this totaly sucks!!!!!!

sorry you are feeling so unwell. Drink plenty of hot drinks, keep warm and you can take paracetamol if you need to x x

aaawww... im sorry to hear that you're sick. Drink lots of fluids especially orange juice... it's high in vitamin C... feel better
