17-9-2009 - 37 week scan and OB appt

My mood while writing this blog:
OK

This morning I had a repeat ultrasound to check my amniotic fluid level. Last week, it was slightly low at 9.5cm. Today it was 12.3cm - which is great. All that water chugging paid off! Baby Avery is still head down but not engaged yet.
At my OB appt, I was up 4lbs (boooooooo!) and my BP and urine were fine, as usual. I am GBS negative - YAY! My cervix is still closed. But really, I heard it doesn't mean anything. You can be dilated for weeks w/o labor or you can be closed one day and be in labor 12 hours later. So I am trying not to get discouraged. She still has 3 weeks left to bake. I have to be patient and enjoy the last weeks of couple time with DH. =)
The only thing I have noticed is psycho nesting and a big increase in my v. discharge (sorry for the TMI) but thats something, right? A little light at the end of this looooooooooooong tunnel?
I started taking evening primrose oil and red raspberry leaf tea to prep my uterus.
When D day gets closer I am going to start walking and doing my prenatal yoga. As for right now, I am going to bed.

damn, we are allll closed up! It sucks i know, i wasnt shocked when she told me that too!! but labor can still happen overnight =) keep me posted, ill see my dr on tue., hopefully a change

Trust me it really doesn't mean anything I was dilated to a 3 for 2 weeks. When it was time for him to come it all changed very fast!!! Surprisingly I recommend going all natural if you can. It really wasn't that bad. I'm sure had there been someone there other than my nurse to coach me it would have been even easier. I can't wait til the little princess is here!!

I went today as well, and they said the same think cervix closed and in the back, so i got upset, but you're right doens't really mean anything, i'm gonna start walking next week, hopefully that will help :O)... BEST OF LUCK TO YOU,
