01-10-2009 - 39 week scan and OB visit

Hi Mommies! I went for my 39 week OB visit today (UGH), everything looks wonderful - my BP, urine, baby's heartrate. She finally dropped! Hallejulah! I am measuring 37 weeks - that means she is dropped head down low in my pelvis. Hence the trouble emptying my bladder and the shooting pains down my inner thighs. I am not dilated at all. But again, OB said "doesn't mean much as most first time moms don't dilate til labor starts." She wanted me to get a scan today to measure my amniotic fluid levels (a month ago, the fluid was low normal) and to check baby's size. The scan went well, fluid levels are normal and baby Avery is measuring 7lbs 4oz.
Sigh, I scheduled my 40 week OB visit for next Thursday - God help me if I am in that office at 40 weeks.
I can't take too much more, little girl.
OB said to "have a talk with the baby and get her out." LOL, good one.
If I don't have the little one by Oct. 13 then I will get a scan that day and a NST (non stress test) and then we will plan from there (regarding induction etc) - she didn't give me a clear answer about when she will induce me. My plan is to have as much sex as possible and keep my fingers crossed for 10/4 (the full moon).
Good luck and labor dust to all the mommies who are in my boat - still massive preggos and no babies yet.

okay, sex did not work for me AT ALL but God bless you if you want to try it. =) I used to "talk" to Benji in those late weeks and I just said "Mommy wants to meet you but you come when you are ready".

it's funny you know, when they're still in there not wanting to budge you can't wait to get them out. then once they've finally arrived, it's not long till you miss the kicks and squirms and the little things you shared with them that no one else could while they were in there. try to enjoy what's left, it's goes way too quick. good luck when your time comes.... not long now.

So glad your appointment went well...yes you have a talk with that princess of yours and tell her she needs to come soon! I still find it funny-the night my water broke I was telling my husband that I can't wait to have my body back and I was telling Brenna that she better come on time. That night my water broke and she came early. I swear it was the little talk I had with her Haha Well hang in there-I hope the full moon helps you out!
