| 17-4-2008 - Save the drama for your mama...oh wait, that\'s ME | My mood while writing this blog:mixed emotiona |
Well...I'm back.
I was just minding my own business today...cleaning up dog puke:( I thought it would be nice to take a nice shower....and went to pee. There came a gush of blood. Like any woman alive, I my first thought was "Darn period!" Then I looked down and remembered that I was wearing the world's largest bra and have a HUGE belly. Oh, right...I'm pregnant. Blood is NOT good. I'm a nut job. I freak out about the dumbest things on a daily basis, but those times when you are SUPPOSED to freak out---I become as cool as a cumcumber.
I called the doctors office and explained to them that I had been cramping and that I was bleeding. BRIGHT RED BLOOD. The nurse was very sweet, but a but a bit wigged out. So, I tell John to come home and get me. Off we go. I was having A LOT of pressure and the cramping was very uncomfortable. They got us in immediately and his hearbeat was strong and he was kicking and prodding away. I had a trans-U/S. There was baby with his head smooshed into my cervix..acting like we were in his way and distrubing his precious sleep. The tech scanned over and over my placenta and couldn't find any seperation. Fluids were good. Every part of his body was exactly as it should be. He has hair on his head and was weighing in at 4.5pounds. She tried to snap a few 3D pictures but he had his foot and then his hand over half of this face.
They did an internal examed and were amazed that I was NOT dilated. I was contracting while she did the exam...but still NO dilation, no effacement. Still long and hard! This survivors cervix is very strong:) They just told me that they aren't sure where the source of the blood came from---could have been a burst blood vessel. I need to go back on Friday. Until then...it's back to bed I go. Hi ho, hi ho and a wee bit of (woe is me!).
I didn't get to see my doctor but she is so sweet and incredible. She called me just a few minutes ago to see how I was doing. It was very scary, but I'm ok. She just told me not to do ANYTHING at all until this weekend. 34 weeks is such a huge ordeal. I'm back on bed rest...for the next two weeks at least. Now...we all know how I feel about bed rest. Part of me just wants to CRY. I get so sad being stuck in bed all flipping day long---but I will do whatever I have to do for my little man.
So...for now...I've still been able to keep baby inside me. I'm getting my way and am not being bossed around too much by a baby. My legs are crossed. I'm very thankful he is ok. I will keep my head up and try to be positive about being back in bed...again.
