08-7-2008 - Told the grandparents

My mood while writing this blog: happy... i think

Well... We all went out for dinner last night. All of us but the future grandpa. He left Georgia really late, then blew a tire on the way home. So he wasn't at his son's 30th B-Day dinner. We had everyone else together so we went ahead and gave out their "thank you gifts"... for "helping us with moving into our new house and with the yard and etc. etc. etc." They all feel for it. Eddie's mom was the first to get it open and his sister was a close second. They were so excited. My mom was taking FOREVER so I reached across and just ripped it open for her. I didn't get the reaction I expected to tell you the truth. Then we helped my 90 year old grandma open hers and again... not what I expected. They both kinda looked surprised but more upset than happy. After a few seconds it changed to happy... but I don't know how to read their initial reactions. All they have done for over a year is tell me to get pregnant. I finally do, and it was almost like they wanted me to have told them FIRST, right away, rather than a week later at a restaurant with the rest of the family. Who knows!?!?! My brother in law gave me a high 5 from across the table and then gave us each hugs (he NEVER hugs people)... so that was cool. They were all very happy... i think. We then went to take my MIL back home and wait on FIL. He got there just a few minutes after us and we gave him his gift. He already knew though. He said he could tell I was when he saw me last Wednesday at dinner... a different glow. Kinda cool I guess. He also had figured out that we were going to tell everyone at dinner and felt SO BAD for missing it. All in all it was great though. And now I can talk to them about it openly.

I actually just received an email from my mom. It' below.

"Nice surprise last night. Sorry that I was in shock. I was in shock all the way home. My heart was beating fast and my back was hurting. I told my mom I thought I was having a heart attack. I said, great, my first grandbaby and I'm going to die of a heart attack.

Today I'm much better and finally out of the shock. I did Thank the Lord last night because he answers prayers.

Congratulation Negrita. I love you."

I guess that answers my question. LOL
